Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people nsfas application who are researching or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
